How We Pray: Community Christian Prayer

All true and lasting advance on earth for the cause of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God comes about, by God’s sovereign ordination, through the effectual, fervent prayers of His royal-priestly people (cf 1 Timothy 2:1-10, 1 Peter 2:1-10, James 5:13-18, Ephesians 3:20-21, 6:18). This is why Resurrection Church hosts a weekly Community Christian Prayer Meeting. This meeting is not only for our own church members, but also for members of other local churches in Peoria city/county and surrounding towns/counties to come together in concerted prayer as one holy Church/Assembly in unity of the Spirit, in the bond of our peace with God and with each other – one body, Spirit, hope of our calling, Lord, faith, baptism, God and Father (Ephesians 4:3-6). The meeting is also an occasion for us to call upon our generous God in Jesus’ name to send blessing and aid to those in need, whether to our fellow Christian brethren or to our neighbors.
